Hey there! Father’s Day is coming up, and we hope you’re getting ready for Father’s Day on the 6th of next month. If you haven’t prepped up yet for celebrating one of the most special and perhaps the most important man in your life, don’t worry - we’ve got a few ideas for you here today on the Elinz blog.
If you’re like us and you’re staying safe indoors in the meantime, or if your local government has enforced lockdowns as well to help keep you safe, it can be a little challenging to make Father’s Day feel special for your dad - but don’t worry!
It’s challenging, but not impossible. But remember - if you have any ideas involving the outdoors, make sure that you’re staying safe and you’re wearing the necessary PPE. And most importantly, if you can stay at home then you MUST stay at home.
Here are some amazing and chill ideas that you can try out to give your dad the best Father’s Day ever, even while we’re all on lockdown and staying safe.
Prep a simple breakfast to start off the day!
A simple and healthy breakfast is the best way to start off Father’s Day, and you’ve got plenty of time to scour the internet for some amazing recipes - at the time of writing, we’re still a week and a half to go before the 6th of September!
Don’t forget to keep your food fresh if you’re going to go out and grab the groceries now for what you’ll cook on Father’s Day. It’d be a shame if they spoiled or if it got freezer burned, in the case of meats.
And don’t skimp out on their favorite drink. If your dad is anything like ours, I’m sure they love coffee!
Some tools we recommend: If you’re thinking of prepping something hearty and meaty for breakfast, make sure to keep your meats sealed fresh with a food vacuum sealer that you can get here at Elinz. Protein-based food, especially those that are whole foods, tend to spoil faster so you’d do well to vacuum seal them. Freezing is okay, just make sure that it doesn’t get freezer burn!
Get some brand new gear for your car and ask him to help out!
A lot of our dads are big car enthusiasts, and some of their idea of fun is hooking up a new car stereo, setting up a new car DVD player, or laying out the wiring on a brand new dashcam or a reverse camera is a few hours well spent.
Especially so if the said brand new gear is for their car - like most boys with brand new toys, they just can’t wait to get to play with it. So, one of the best and most chill ideas is to get some gear such as dash cams, power inverters, reverse cameras - anything that has to do with both your vehicles and get it delivered straight to your doorstep on the 6th.

So if you and/or your dad have been hankering for some good sporting events, maybe it's time to look to the greats for some ideas on how to best spend a good couple of hours with your dad this Father’s day. There are also about three games scheduled for AFL on the 6th, so stay tuned for that!
If your dad isn’t into sports, then maybe they’d like to see a movie - ask them now so you won’t forget to get a copy of their favorite movie to play on Father’s Day!
The Elinz recommendation: If you have a car or a caravan, set up your car DVD player with the movie for a change of pace this Father’s day. Make sure that you’re not breaking any lockdown restrictions and find someplace that doesn’t have many people to park and watch the movie in!

Fire up the grill and get a Zoom meeting going!
Your dad misses his friends too - so if you can set up a zoom meeting for him, do it! Set them up with a laptop outdoors so they can fire up the grill, get a few beers, and have some fun in the sun!
Make sure that you're not doing this in your yard - if you have to go somewhere else outside your home, there are other ideas, and you can just set up a zoom meeting minus the barbie.
A lot of our dads have a bit of a challenge setting zoom meetings up in this day and age, so they might need all the help they can get to get it going.
