Local authorities in a town in Western Australia have encouraged local residents to use HID driving lights and other safety lighting devices after a blaze burned through over 70 hectares of bushland in the area. The move came after the bushfire threatened parts of Bedfordale, a semi-rural suburb located southeast of Perth, and produced thick clouds of smoke.
The fire have been moving fast in a westerly direction, but has now been contained and the alert level issued a couple of days ago has been downgraded. There is no longer a threat to homes and properties but there is a lot of smoke blowing over South Western Highway in Byford. This prompted the local authorities to issue a warning and encouraged motorists to switch on their driving lights when passing through the area to avoid accidents.
Fire fighters have yet to determine the cause of the incident, which razed at least 75 hectares of land in Bedfordale and neighbouring areas. But to ensure everyone's safety, they have released some guidelines to prevent any untoward incident. Aside from switching their HID driving lights on, motorists are advised to drive slowly. If they don't have any urgent business elsewhere, they are encouraged to stay indoors as much as possible, as we all as to stay alert and monitor their surroundings.
In case they are in the middle of the road and a thick haze of smoke suddenly blows their way and reduces road visibility, the authorities said motorists should pull over and wait until the smoke clears. They are also advised to keep their driving lights on. So when another vehicle passes by, the HID lights will alert them to the other motorist's presence and prevent a potential collision.
Having a reliable lighting device, like LED and HID driving lights, is indeed a huge advantage in such emergency situations. Not only they can help you see better amid the thick smoke, they can also prevent you from getting into accidents. Because bushfires are a common occurrence in many parts of Australia, it is advisable that you get yourself a good pair of HID Xenon driving lights for your vehicle, no matter where in the country you might be.
Always remember that disasters can strike anywhere. As such, it would be wise to be prepared for all times. If you live in an area that is prone to bushfires, make sure you follow the advice of the local authorities. Also, don't forget to equip your vehicle with quality HID driving lights.
